The Sawdust Kookers

The first Cook-off we did was in Montgomery Tx. at the Montgomery/Dobbin Noon Lions Club in April 97. It rained the entire time and was the worst mud hole we had ever seen, (at least at that time.)

Brian and Darrell Shelly, who are brothers, were the only two members then. Billy Dugger was also there to help out that first cook-off, and then became a team member. Only our closest friends and most devoted family members came to see us at what we still refer to as "The MUD-PIT."

Now we've aquired quite a following and we always appreciate all our friends and family who comes to see us rain or shine. Thanks Yall! Needless to say our team has grown a bit over the years, (around 18 members,) but our goal of cooking the best BBQ around has never been stronger.
